Whale watching adventure from Tromsø (Tromso)

Nach zahlreichen erfolglosen Whale Watching Tours in allen Ländern hat mir Njord Adventures endlich meinen Traum erfüllt Orcas in freier Wildbahn hautnah zu erleben. Die Tour war mit Abstand die Beste, die ich bisher erlebt habe. Die Crew hat uns mit sehr viel Rücksicht & genügend Abstand zu den Tieren einen magischen Tag geschenkt. Wir haben super viele Orcas und Buckelwale gesehen. Das Boot ist sehr komfortabel. Für heiße Getränke, eine saubere Toilette an Board ist gesorgt. Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat, ist das wir uns sehr lange bei den Tieren aufgehalten haben. Der Kapitän hat uns immer wieder Richtung der Wale gebracht, ohne zu aufdringlich zu den Tieren zu sein. Ich kann diese Tour zu 1000% empfehlen und bin froh, dass ich mich für diesen kleineren Anbieter entschieden habe. Es waren nur ca 30 Menschen. Jeder hatte einen bequemen Platz und auch beim Fotografieren und Filmen hatten wir alle genug Platz, um etwas zu sehen. Tausend Dank an Njord Adventures!

The boat is great, plenty of space. The journey, whilst long, is stunning. The crew are knowledgable and friendly and they get you close enough to be in awe of these wonderful creatures whilst still respecting their space.

It was a really magical and emotional day which I'll never forget and I'd recommend this trip to anyone visiting Tromsø.

Great experience We had a great experience with njord adventures! We saw a lot of orcas and they were so close to us!
The boat is very cozy and warm inside.
There is a coffee machine and tea, it is very nice.
Outside the boat there is enough place for every one.
The crew is so excited to find animals and we got a lot of new and interesting information.
We will definitely choose njord adventures next time!

It was a perfect day! Amazing crew with a perfectly sized ship and group. We had the best time ever with the most magical views! And they are very respectful towards the whales and always told us where to see them. 1000% recommend!

We joined a whale tour with Njord Adventures on their small boat. Even though it was fully booked with around 40 people, it never felt crowded. Our guide Hannaleena was very friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly.

We were incredibly lucky and saw orcas, humpback whales, and even a fin whale. One orca stayed right next to the boat for about five minutes and swam around us, what an unforgettable experience.

These are wild animals, so sightings can never be guaranteed, but the crew always kept a respectful distance and clearly cared about the animals’ well-being.

Absolutely recommended, a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Gestern waren wir mit Njord Adventures auf Whalewatching Tour. Es ist absolut empfehlenswert. Auf dem Weg hin gibt es einen kleinen Vortrag über die Wale die man sehen könnte. Wir waren eines der ersten Boote bei den Walen und man merkt den Guides ihre Liebe zu den Tieren wirklich an. Alle haben die Zeit vergessen und wir waren bis es zu dunkel wurde um etwas zu sehen im Fjord. Es wurde sehr respektvoll mit den Walen umgegangen. Andere Boote sind nahezu in die Wale reingefahren, bei uns kamen die Wale von selbst sehr nah ans Boot. Hannaleena und ihre Crew waren sehr hilfsbereit und immer sehr sehr freundlich. Sie haben sich gegen das Arbeiten in einem Unternehmen entschieden, das gegen die ethischen Grundsätze der Welt der Wale arbeitet und sich selbstständig gemacht. Auf dem Rückweg gab es Suppe und Hannaleena hat nochmals erklärt, welche Wale wir gesehen haben. In unserem Fall Finnwale, Orcas und Buckelwale. Das Team hilft auch bei der Wal Research und beobachtet genau, welche Wale im Fjord auftauchen. Es war ein wunderbarer Ausflug und wir hatten das Glück Orcas, Buckelwale und einen Finnwal zu sehen. Die Crew war supernett und hat uns viel Wissenswertes über die Wale berichtet. Das Boot hat jederzeit respektvoll Abstand zu den Tieren gehalten. Danke für diesen tollen Tag.

It was really great to be out with a group of friends and to be with such a responsible company.
I am also in the business of Whale watching and it was really great to share experience's with Jørn and Hannaleena who are excellent at their job.
We found plenty of Whales Orcas, Humpbacks and Fin and even a young Minke too.
There is plenty of comfort aboard the very capable SYLVKALLEN hot drinks avaible at any time and Soup after an exhilarating time with the whales on the way home.
Certainly i am planning to return next year.

We spent the day searching for the Orcas. We were lucky as they made an appearance. We also got to see humpback whales. The trip was well organised and comfortable. Slightly bumpy in places so I'd recommend taking sea sickness tablets if you're prone to that. The guide had a good knowledge and there was a general feeling of respect for nature and the whales. I would highly recommend.

Muy buena experiencia. Ése día era especialmente frío y no vimos demasiada actividad. Pero los fiordos, el ambiente y las orcas que nos rondaron junto con dos breves ballenas a lo lejos hicieron un día para recordar.
El grupo es muy reducido permitiendo disfrutar más de la actividad.
En el barco hay café, té, sopa, chocolate caliente y galletas para disfrutar de un descanso entre los avistamientos en el exterior.

Great tour — even the boat ride there was spectacular! We saw lots of orcas, including babies. The team was warm, very knowledgeable, and took plenty of time with everything. I’d definitely do it again!

The best compromise in therms of comfort and speed, plus an amazing guide! The trip with Njord Adventures was unforgettable! I’ve done the whales tour before with other boats and, in my opinion, theirs have a good compromise with size, speed and comfort. It’s only 2h30 to reach the fjords where the whales are, which allowed us to stay much more time around there to try to spot them. We spend a long time enjoying Orcas and Hampacks and got a beautiful gift in the end with a curious Orca playing sooo close to the boat. And that was thankful to them that pushed a bit longer as the weather was good and they could spot more animals around. We had a safe trip, they respect the animals, their space, the distance. We had hot drinks and snacks available the whole time and soup on the way back. Jørn sailed us very safely and also safe for the whales. Hannaleena was super kind, full of knowledge and very passionate. She was all the time checking the fjords to try to spot them. We had explanations about the weather conditions, what to expect and all the details of the whales we’ve seen and their behavior. We were even more lucky to get crazy Northern Lights on the way back, as the weather was completely clear. I totally recommend them! Happy birthday Hannaleena !

Wirklich ganz ganz toll! Ein kleines Unternehmen , dem es wirklich wichtig ist, dass ihre Gäste glücklich sind und die sich sehr um ihre Gäste bemühen. Hannalena hat uns viel über die Wale erzählt und durch das schnelle Boot waren wir auch in 2.5h bei den Walen. Wir haben ganz viele Wale gesehen , es war atemberaubend schön und trotzdem wurden die Tiere in ihrer natürliche Umgebung respektiert ( nicht zu nah dran gefahren, verfolgt etc). Als die meisten Boote umgekehrt sind , sind wir noch weiter gefahren und haben noch ein paar Walspots aufgesucht da noch etwas Tageslicht da war. Das sticht gegenüber anderen Anbietern definitiv hervor. Auch die kleine Gruppengröße von höchstens 30 , macht die Tour sehr privat und entspannt. Es gab die ganze Tour über gratis Tee und Kaffee sowie Suppe . Wir haben uns wirklich sehr sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten den besten Tag seit langem. Auf der Rückfahrt konnten wir sogar noch Polarlichter sehen. Danke 🤗 bucht diese Tour , ihr werdet es nicht bereuen .

Thankful for this great experience. The communication was on point and the service just great. With patience we were lucky to see Orcas and humpback whales. We were given plenty of time to watch, enjoy and take pictures. I got to know a lot more about the whales we saw than imagined. Thank you Njord team for making our trip extra special.

Die Tour hat meine Vorstellungen noch übertroffen. Wie haben an einem nicht so klaren Tag zwar etwas länger gebraucht bis wir die Wale gefunden haben, aber als wir dann die Location erreicht haben war es wie in einem Traum. Die Guides liessen uns auch lange Zeit und wir konnten mehrmals verschiedene Wale sehen. Bei uns waren es Buckelwale und Orcas. Die Guides haben auch auf der Fahrt immer wieder etwas erzählt und achteten auch immer auf genügend Abstand. Die Fahrt mit dem Boot nach Skervøy geht teilweise über das offene Meer und wenn man seekrank wird kann das recht übel werden. Aber wenn das überstanden ist, lohnt es sich sehr.😊

Expérience incroyable ! L équipage est très sympa nous avons vu énormément d orques et quelques baleines à bosse. Une journée extraordinaire malgré un temps peu lumineux. Une soupe est proposée après l observation et les boissons chaudes sont à volonté. Je les conseille les yeux fermés

Had the most incredible day, I would reccomend this tour to anyone and everyone. After a failed tour with another company this tour exceeeded my expectations. We saw orcas, finn, and humpback whales it was truly sensational. Every direction you looked there were whales as far as the eye could see. We never felt rushed and spent hours watching them splash around. What an absolutely fantastic company! Our whale and orca sightseeing tour in Tromsø was nothing short of unbelievable. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, warm, and personal. The two captains, who also acted as our guides, were truly wonderful—knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely excited to share their love for the ocean and its wildlife.

We went out on a small boat, which made the whole experience so much more intimate and special. We were incredibly lucky to see both orcas and whales up close, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The tour took a bit longer than planned, but every single minute was worth it—the owners’ total involvement and care for every guest really showed.

A few tips for anyone planning this adventure: dress very warmly, even in multiple layers, as it gets freezing out on the water. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take seasick medicine in advance, and be prepared—the waters can get quite rough at times.

This is not just another tour; it’s a heartfelt experience run by people who truly love what they do. I’ll definitely be back for another trip in a different season. Highly, highly recommended! 🐋❄️💙

This whale watching tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The crew was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

Fantastic tour, the crew, the boat, and of course the whales were perfect. We spent a lot of time with the whales and even stayed a bit longer than expected to enjoy some very close encounters. We saw 25+ orcas and a couple of humpback whales. Highly recommend!

Whale watching tour yesterday 08/12/25 fantastic dat out 👍it’s about three hours getting to the feeding grounds but so worth it 😬tea coffee hot chocolate biscuits soup all on board! Very professional crew very informative! I enjoyed it so much I’m going again on Sunday !!!! Lots of orcas which is my main thing also seen several humpback whales got done great video footage that I can’t stop looking at 😁😁😁😁😁definitely worth doing

After researching options I’m very glad to have booked with Njord. Every day out in the sea is different and in many ways the sea gods blessed us on our tour, but I’d go out with them again any day. Great combo of care for the guests and marine life!

Was alles so perfekt macht, war das wir als erstes da waren, mit am längsten geblieben sind und am Ende noch mit den Orcas fuhren. Ich kann alles nur empfehlen!
