It was truly magical! We saw many orcas and humpback whales and the atmosphere was breathtaking. Im so glad we chose a tour with a smaller boat, this allowed us a way more authentic experience. The guide was also very friendly and we felt so welcome. BIG recommendation!

The trip with Njord Adventures was unforgettable! I’ve done the whales tour before with other boats and, in my opinion, theirs have a good compromise with size, speed and comfort. It’s only 2h30 to reach the fjords where the whales are, which allowed us to stay much more time around there to try to spot them. We spend a long time enjoying Orcas and Hampacks and got a beautiful gift in the end with a curious Orca playing sooo close to the boat. And that was thankful to them that pushed a bit longer as the weather was good and they could spot more animals around. We had a safe trip, they respect the animals, their space, the distance. We had hot drinks and snacks available the whole time and soup on the way back. Jørn sailed us very safely and also safe for the whales. Hannaleena was super kind, full of knowledge and very passionate. She was all the time checking the fjords to try to spot them. We had explanations about the weather conditions, what to expect and all the details of the whales we’ve seen and their behavior. We were even more lucky to get crazy Northern Lights on the way back, as the weather was completely clear. I totally recommend them! Happy birthday Hannaleena !

Njord adventures We had an excellent day with Hannaleena and Jörn. Their expertise on whales and navigaation on the sea was top notch. If you are looking for nontouristic approach and hassle free (as said in the prochure) whale watching tour, this is it!

The best compromise in therms of comfort and speed, plus an amazing guide! The trip with Njord Adventures was unforgettable! Nach zahlreichen erfolglosen Whale Watching Tours in allen Ländern hat mir Njord Adventures endlich meinen Traum erfüllt Orcas in freier Wildbahn hautnah zu erleben. Die Tour war mit Abstand die Beste, die ich bisher erlebt habe. Die Crew hat uns mit sehr viel Rücksicht & genügend Abstand zu den Tieren einen magischen Tag geschenkt. Wir haben super viele Orcas und Buckelwale gesehen. Das Boot ist sehr komfortabel. Für heiße Getränke, eine saubere Toilette an Board ist gesorgt. Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat, ist das wir uns sehr lange bei den Tieren aufgehalten haben. Der Kapitän hat uns immer wieder Richtung der Wale gebracht, ohne zu aufdringlich zu den Tieren zu sein. Ich kann diese Tour zu 1000% empfehlen und bin froh, dass ich mich für diesen kleineren Anbieter entschieden habe. Es waren nur ca 30 Menschen. Jeder hatte einen bequemen Platz und auch beim Fotografieren und Filmen hatten wir alle genug Platz, um etwas zu sehen. Tausend Dank an Njord Adventures!

A awesome Experience! Nice boat Size, Not too big and Not to Small. Theres Coffee and tea on Board and you can warm up inside a Little Bit if its to cold. We saw millions of Orcas and a few humpback whales. Thanks for Having us on Board. Next time again:)

Our first 9-hour expedition was with a different larger boat company and we didn’t see any whales… literally 0 and the whole thing felt rushed and cramped.

But this company, Njord Adventures, are amazing! We went on a smaller, more comfortable, and intimate boat and we were rewarded with numerous orcas (killer whales) and humpback whales. They even gave us soup towards the end of the trip to warm us up!

The water can get choppy, so take seasickness tablets before boarding. The staff keep you informed about bumps and waves, and they were absolutely incredible!

Special shout out to Hannaleena - she was amazing.

Had a fantastic two days of watching orcas, humpback and fin whales with NjordAdventures. Would highly reccomend booking a tour with them if you wish to go whale watching from Tromso in winter. The crew are very passionate about what they do and want you to have the best experience possible whilst also following good practices to avoid disturbing the whales.

Will definetly be coming back to Tromso again and booking more tours with them!

We spent the day searching for the Orcas. We were lucky as they made an appearance. We also got to see humpback whales. The trip was well organised and comfortable. Slightly bumpy in places so I'd recommend taking sea sickness tablets if you're prone to that. The guide had a good knowledge and there was a general feeling of respect for nature and the whales. I would highly recommend.

Es war ein wunderbarer Ausflug und wir hatten das Glück Orcas, Buckelwale und einen Finnwal zu sehen. Die Crew war supernett und hat uns viel Wissenswertes über die Wale berichtet. Das Boot hat jederzeit respektvoll Abstand zu den Tieren gehalten. Danke für diesen tollen Tag.

Amazing experience, we were lucky and we saw a group of orcas and two humpback whales, they were really close, the wales also passed under our boat!

Amazing experience. Today's experience was incredible. Not only did we see multiple orca but we got to see two humpback whales and the Northern lights on the ride back in. Words can not explain how great this trip was. The knowledge of the local guide Hannaleena was fantastic and the boat skipper Daniel did a great job of getting us close to the whales and keeping them safe.

Excellent crew and wonderful boat. We saw humpback whales and many orcas up close. Boat is fast and perfect size, not too big, not too small. We had a bonus on the way back seeing the Northern Lights. I totally recommend this crew and boat and would do it again

We had cookies, tea, coffee and chocolate on board. During the journey there, guides shared us information about the whales we are going to see. We felt absolutely comfortable and welcomed on the boat, we found a pod of orcas that swam close to our boat and followed us too! Close up footage of the whales were on videos that I couldn't upload on Google reviews unfortunately. Time to go see for yourself.

The crew is just great, professional, open for all questions and curiosity all while being very respectful of the wildlife at sea.
The boat is very comfortable and warm - there’s tea / coffee at our disposal during the trip (+ warm soups at lunch).

My only bucket list dream was to see orcas in the wild, and Njord Adventures made that possible! We had the most incredible experience right beside the orcas while they rode the waves next to us. 10/10 experience!

My partner and me did the whale safari with Njord Adventures in mid-November 2025 and had an incredible day out in breathtakingly beautiful fjord scenery with lots of orcas, as well as several humpback whales and some fin whales (the latter didn't show much of themselves, but I trust our guide they were fin whales indeed) on a very comfy boat with an amazing crew.

While there is a bunch of whale watching tour operators in Tromsø to choose from, we were very happy we picked this one and highly recommend it for the following reasons (doesn't mean none of this applies to other operators as well, but for this one we can safely confirm):

• The code of conduct for responsible whale watching was perfectly followed. While we got very close especially to the orcas or rather they got close to us by themselves, great attention was paid not to harrass any whale with the boat.

• Thanks to the experience of the crew and their willingness also to spend more time for the tour and go further with the boat, we really saw a lot of whales, particularly orcas, and had plenty of time to watch and admire them.

• The crew, which consisted of our super friendly and knowledgeable guide Hannaleena and our experienced captain Jørn, was truly amazing. Hannaleena provided very interesting information about the whales (there was also a nice short presentation on the way to the whales) and took exceptional care of each passenger.

• Small boat with small group size. There are up to 36 passengers admitted on the boat. We were around 12 passengers that day, which created a very familiar and relaxed atmosphere, and the boat was super cosy and warm inside the cabin. (Only drawback: The boat might be a bit shakier than bigger boats in more turbulent waters, so my partner and me both felt a bit nauseous at some point on the way back, but neither we nor any of the other passengers required any of the sufficiently provided seasickness bags and Jørn manoeuvred the boat as calmly as possible.)

• We also very enjoyed the free hot drinks plus warm soup and cookies and I don't know whose playlist it was that we could listen to inside the cabin, but I very liked it.

So altogether, we had a fantastic experience with the whales and Northern Norwegian scenery. Thanks so much to Hannaleena and Jørn for the perfect day!

Wow! I can't think of a better way to describe the adventure we had with Njord Adventures in Tromsø last Saturday. The experience we booked was even better than expected. We had the opportunity to watch the whales up close, and we were given lots of information. The whole crew was fantastic — so kind, and always pointing out where the orcas were coming from. I would definitely recommend booking a whale-watching tour here, and if we ever come back, this is the tour we want to take again.

Gestern waren wir mit Njord Adventures auf Whalewatching Tour. Es ist absolut empfehlenswert. Auf dem Weg hin gibt es einen kleinen Vortrag über die Wale die man sehen könnte. Wir waren eines der ersten Boote bei den Walen und man merkt den Guides ihre Liebe zu den Tieren wirklich an. Alle haben die Zeit vergessen und wir waren bis es zu dunkel wurde um etwas zu sehen im Fjord. Es wurde sehr respektvoll mit den Walen umgegangen. Andere Boote sind nahezu in die Wale reingefahren, bei uns kamen die Wale von selbst sehr nah ans Boot. Hannaleena und ihre Crew waren sehr hilfsbereit und immer sehr sehr freundlich. Sie haben sich gegen das Arbeiten in einem Unternehmen entschieden, das gegen die ethischen Grundsätze der Welt der Wale arbeitet und sich selbstständig gemacht. Auf dem Rückweg gab es Suppe und Hannaleena hat nochmals erklärt, welche Wale wir gesehen haben. In unserem Fall Finnwale, Orcas und Buckelwale. Das Team hilft auch bei der Wal Research und beobachtet genau, welche Wale im Fjord auftauchen. Sollten wir wieder mal in tromso sein, ist eine Tour mit Njord Adventures fester Programmpunkt vielen Dank euch für diesen unvergesslichen Tag

Ein Traum ging in Erfüllung ❤️ Es war phantastisches Erlebnis, absolut liebe und professionelle Crew, die sich immer Zeit genommen hat und gerne ihr Wissen teilte. Mein Sohn und ich waren so begeistert, daß wir den Tag drauf auch nochmal mit dabei waren. Am ersten Tag haben wir viele Orcas gesehen, am zweiten Tag kamen dann noch Buckelwale und Finnwale dazu. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

Muy buena experiencia. Ése día era especialmente frío y no vimos demasiada actividad. Pero los fiordos, el ambiente y las orcas que nos rondaron junto con dos breves ballenas a lo lejos hicieron un día para recordar.
El grupo es muy reducido permitiendo disfrutar más de la actividad.
En el barco hay café, té, sopa, chocolate caliente y galletas para disfrutar de un descanso entre los avistamientos en el exterior.

It was a perfect day! Amazing crew with a perfectly sized ship and group. We had the best time ever with the most magical views! And they are very respectful towards the whales and always told us where to see them. 1000% recommend!

It was really great to be out with a group of friends and to be with such a responsible company.
I am also in the business of Whale watching and it was really great to share experience's with Jørn and Hannaleena who are excellent at their job.
We found plenty of Whales Orcas, Humpbacks and Fin and even a young Minke too.
There is plenty of comfort aboard the very capable SYLVKALLEN hot drinks avaible at any time and Soup after an exhilarating time with the whales on the way home.
Certainly i am planning to return next year.
